WBIDFC was established on 29th May, 1997 by the Government of West Bengal to provide for the growing need of infrastructure facilities in the State. Its Board of Directors consists of eminent people like Shri Ashok Bandopadhyay, Chairman, Smt. Aparna Gupta, Shri Manasa Hansda, Principal Secretaries of Department of Finance, Panchayats and Rural Development Department Power Department, Development & Planning Department Water Investigation & Development Department & PWD.

Ever since its inception, WBIDFC has remained an institution of excellence and has provided able and timely support for creation of all types of infrastructure facilities for primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in West Bengal.The Corporation has coordinated with the concerned Government Agencies,district planning committees, local bodies and other agencies for infrastructure financing activities.

In addition to direct mobilisation of resources, WBIDFC has been of considerable assistance to the Government for securitisation of loans and providing advisory services to various Government Departments.

WBIDFC’s vision is development of World Class infrastructure for the State and mission is to execute it within the shortest possible time.

WBIDFC has contemplated to diversify its activities and launched its maiden residential housing project named “Sankalpa” on a prime location in New Town, Rajarhat.

It has engaged the services of best agencies and associates to design and execute this world class project. The project will comprise 905 dwelling units covering penthouse, duplex , HIG and standard flats.
